Summer is winding down, but Beaufort County Parks and Recreation is giving families one more chance to make a splash before backpacks and homework take over.
The final Slip & Splash Saturday of the season will take place at Bluffton Pool on August 1, running from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
A Last Hurrah Before Fall Routines Return
For families who have made Slip & Splash Saturdays a summer tradition, this is the one to catch. Once school starts back up, alarm clocks, homework, and packed lunches will replace lazy pool days, and organizers say this event is the perfect send-off to summer break.
The pool will feature a giant inflatable obstacle course that has become a crowd favorite throughout the season. Kids and parents alike have been climbing, splashing, and racing across the course, and organizers are inviting families to give it one more try before the calendar flips to fall.
Water temperatures will sit at a comfortable 84 degrees, making it easy for parents to cool off on the sidelines or jump in and take on the challenge themselves. Life jackets will be available on site for children who are not strong swimmers, so families with kids of varying skill levels can all join in the fun.
What Families Need to Know Before They Go
There are a few details to keep in mind before heading to Bluffton Pool for the event. Each session comes with a two-hour time limit, so guests should plan their visit accordingly. Regular swim memberships will not be valid for this particular event, meaning admission will be required for entry.
That admission requirement applies to everyone walking through the gates, including parents or family members who plan to simply watch from the sidelines rather than get in the water.
Families looking to attend should mark their calendars, since this is the last Slip & Splash Saturday until the event returns on September 5. Organizers are encouraging residents to take advantage of the final weekend before the back-to-school rush fully sets in.
More information, including pricing and additional event details, can be found on the Beaufort County Parks and Recreation website at bcscrec.com/slip-splash-saturdays.
With one more Saturday left before the pool schedule shifts for fall, local families are being encouraged to grab their swimsuits, round up the kids, and head to Bluffton Pool for a final day of summer fun.
